Just days after Lytton, BC set a new all time record temperature for Canada of 49.5ยบ and then burned to the ground… we catch this CN train in Oakville MB. Its so hot today that our camera equipment stopped working at the end of the train. We wanted to show you more of the crossing but the video is corrupted from the heat.

It doesn’t take much imagination to think how a train braking in high heat could well be the cause of the Lytton fire disaster. Locals say a train passed through and was heard breaking as the fire started. We’ve had our share of train related fires in Manitoba as well – usually later in summer when dry fields can be set ablaze by just a spark from a passing wheel.
